One on One Counseling is available to Homeowners who are in danger of falling behind or who are behind on their mortgage. Options due exist for homeowners if they seek help now. PHFA has several loan products available to assist homeowners, HERO loan, REAL loan which these loans may decrease your interest rate if eligible. Don’t wait…call us now! If you have received an Act 91 foreclosure notice, or a Notice of Acceleration the individual or family has 30 days from the date on the notice to contact an agency to fill out a HEMAP application. Once the application is completed, it will be sent to Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), which has 60 days to make the determination if assistance will be granted. If assistance is granted, then PHFA will pay up to 24 months or $60,000 on the past – due mortgage. If received, assistance must be paid to PHFA a specified rate.
The program is open to all residents of Somerset County. There are no income eligibility guidelines.
