A free weatherization and energy education program for residents of Somerset County. Weatherization process must have been completed before September of 1993 or never have been completed before to qualify. After inspecting the home and administering energy efficiency tests, a representative will identify ways for the person or family to save energy. There is a fixed limit on the dollar amount of material that may be installed on each home. In order to keep total cost within specific limitations, certain items may be eliminated using Federal Priority Guidelines. Possible measures that may be taken include:

Insulating attics and basements

Caulking of air leaks

Insulating the hot water heater

Insulating hot water pipes

Furnace tune – ups
Those applying must fall at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines
