The Somerset County Drug Free Communities Coalition is conducting a convenience survey for Somerset County.  We are trying to assess the community's perception of the availability of drugs and alcohol.  The information we collect will help identify priority alcohol, tobacco, and drug abuse prevention programs.

The survey is being distributed in all 11 school districts.  In order to collect a representative sample for the entire county, we need to collect 100 surveys per school district.  We ask that you please take 10-15 minutes of your time complete our survey and then send this link to your colleagues, family, and friends.  Everyone's opinion counts!!!

Michael Gregory, the Security Guard/Caretaker, at the Next Step Center, did various speaking engagements across Somerset County to educate community members on homelessness and offer a positive success story. The following pictures were taken at various speaking events during November 2011 CLICK HERE.

The ROOF Committee also hosted an art and poetry contest this year to Somerset County schools. We were excited to have an amazing response this year.  Students were asked to “think outside the box” on homeless issues and ways that community members can reach out to assist. Elementary and middle school students participated in an art contest. High school students participated in a poetry contest.  We want to thank the schools for their participation and outreach to educate students on homelessness in Somerset County. Please check out the winners here CLICK HERE.
