Passengers are provided service in two age categories. They are 60-64 & 65 and older. Before we can provide transportation service to any senior citizen our office is responsible for verifying the age of all passengers, age 60 and older.
ACCEPTABLE PROOFS OF AGE DOCUMENTS ARE:
Birth certificate, Baptismal certificate, Driver License, Armed Forces Discharge, Passport/ Naturalization, Pace Card, and Department of Transportation non driver licenses. Veterans Universal Access ID Card (photo ID). If you do not have any of these just listed… You can go to the Social Security Office and get a confidential report verifying your birth date.
After verification is received and you have signed a Senior Citizen ID Card verifying proof of age, you may use the system. Upon using the system for the first time, we will provide a Rider ID Card to you. Clients 65 or older will receive a permanent card which is blue in color. Clients 60-64 will receive a pink card, which expires when you turn age 65. Upon expiration, the client should return this card to our office and they will be given a permanent card. THESE CARDS MUST BE SHOWN TO THE DRIVER WHEN BOARDING THE VANS.
60 - 64 CLIENTS: Aging will pay .25 cents for any priority trip, such as medical, pharmacy, grocery stores, nutrition, etc.
65+ CLIENTS: Anyone 65 or older is eligible for lottery funds. Lottery will pay 85% of the fare regardless of where the destination is. Aging will pay .25 cents of all priority trips and passenger must pay the balance. The trips that are not priority trips, such as beauty shops, shopping, etc. the passenger is responsible for the full 15% of the fare.
NOTE: The most any senior citizen would be required to pay is 15% of the fare. Example… our in zone fare is $10.00 one way client pays only $1.50 one way.
