Call for Volunteers!
Call for Volunteers!

The Housing Department and the ROOF Board are actively looking for volunteers for the night of August 28th, 2013 from 7pm to 11pm. We will be conducting our semi-annual Unsheltered Point in Time Count. Teams of volunteers are broken up across Somerset County to provide outreach services for those that are unsheltered on that particular night. A multitude of services are then offered to each of these identified individuals, while also being counted for a confidential survey. This count is a necessary component to our housing services because it provides insight into the number of individuals that are homeless on any given night, while also providing essential demographics that are crucial to service providers. Please consider joining us on this night for an interactive outreach service that extends throughout Somerset County. Call Amanda at 814-445-9628 ext. 211 or aallen@capfsc.org for more information or to sign up!

Project Home Grown
Project Home Grown

Project Home Grown continues to flourish! Community Action Partnership for Somerset County/Tableland Services, Inc. was awarded the Lee Initiatives Health & Wellness Endowment. This exciting new grant has broken ground on a community garden that encompasses two sites, one at Community Action and the other at the Next Step Center. As participants travel on their individualized journey to self-recovery and empowerment, they will be faced with new challenges and goals. Each participant will be partaking in ongoing life skill classes, horticultural therapy, and individualized goal setting. This well devised structure will help each participant learn healthy habits and be streamlined to a multitude of community services to strengthen their housing stability. Community Action Partnership for Somerset County has broken ground on the garden area and is laying a strong foundation to a healthy green space. Continue to check out our website for more pictures on this innovative new program and Somerset County's community garden!
